2026 CSFL Week #2 Honorees

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (September 28, 2026) – Week Two of the 2026
Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) featured a wide range of terrific
individual performances, and those highlights were recognized on Monday as the
league handed out its weekly awards.
For the second week in a row the league saw an individual
block a pair of kicks in a game to earn special teams player-of-the-week
honors. The weekly special teams award was split again, and the offensive award
saw a pair of individuals take home the honor.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER & ROOKIE OF THE WEEK (Dante Corey, Penn)
Coury had a huge game in Penn’s 34-26 win over St. Thomas Aquinas, as he rushed
for 182 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 6.0 yards per carry and scored
TD runs of 2, 1, 31 and 1 yards. Coury also got in on the return game,
returning two kicks for a total of 45 yards.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (Kyle West, Army West Point)
West was outstanding throwing the football for the Black Knights in their 21-12
victory over rival Navy in the Star Game. He completed 21-of-25 passes and
threw one touchdown, while rushing for another.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (Christian Brewton, Caldwell)
Brewton logged six tackles, including 2.5 for loss, broke up a pair of passes
and had a 51-yard interception return to help seal Caldwell’s 29-19 win over D’Youville
for the Cougars’ first victory of the 2026 campaign.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (Otto Leone, Army West
Point)
Leone recorded the first multi-blocked kick game against Navy in program
history, as he helped the Black Knights to a win over the Midshipmen.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (Hector Lopez III,
Caldwell)
Lopez intercepted a pass on a D’Youville two-point conversion try and returned
it 97 yards for two points to turn a possible tied game into a four-point
cushion for the Cougars. It helped Caldwell lock up its first win of the 2026
season.
HONOR ROLL
Dan O’Malley (Cornell) – Made nine total tackles (8 solo) including two for
loss against CHC.
Trevon Washington (STAC) – Scored on TD runs of 70 and 85
yards against Penn.
Jake Oxendine (Army West Point) – Recorded eight tackles and
two QB hurries against Navy.
Josh Smith (Caldwell) – Caught a TD pass and threw the
go-ahead TD pass against DYU.
Xavier Limehouse (Chestnut Hill) – Rushed for 110 yards and TD
to become program’s all-time leading rusher in win against Cornell.
Griffin Walter (Chestnut Hill) – Completed 9-of-12 passes for 130 yards and a TD against Cornell.
