
2025 CSFL Week #1 Honorees

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (September 22, 2025) – The opening week of
the 2025 Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) saw several impressive,
individual performances as the league announced its Week #1 award winners on Monday.
LUKE O’CONNELL (Navy) – OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
O’Connell completed 7-of-9 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while also taking a QB keeper on 4th-and-1 for a 48-yard touchdown in Navy’s season-opening, 40-7, win at Cornell. He led the Midshipmen to six touchdown drives in the first half as he was lifted in the second half to give way to reserves who earned valuable game experience.
TREVER STEVENSON (CALDWELL) – DEFENSIVE PLAYER & ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Stevenson had an outstanding collegiate debut in Caldwell’s crucial 29-17 South Division road win at Penn on Friday night. He logged 15 total tackles including 5.5 behind the line of scrimmage and 2.5 sacks to help the Cougars jump immediately into a tie for first place in the South. In addition to the high tackle amount, Stevenson also broke up a pass and had another QB hurry.
GRANT STERCHI (NAVY) – ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Sterchi took the lid off the top of the Cornell defense in his debut as he hauled in two receptions for 145 yards and a pair of scores. His two touchdown grabs included a 66-yarder and one from 79 yards out. His 66-yard TD grab came on a crucial third down.
NICHOLAS CUETO (ARMY WEST POINT) – SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cueto was a perfect 2-for-2 in field goals (42 & 35 yards) and 3-for-3 in extra-point attempts to help Army open the season with a hard-fought 27-21 win over Chestnut Hill.
HONOR ROLL
JP Ross (Army West Point) – Rushed for 99 yards and two
scores in the win over CHC.
Kyree Griffin (Chestnut Hill) – Caught six passes for 189
yards against Army West Point and set a program record for most receiving yards
in a single game.
Amir Jenkins (Chestnut Hill) – Made 11 tackles, including
eight solo, against the Black Knights.
Ethan Hence (St. Thomas Aquinas) – Logged nine tackles and
broke up a pair of passes in a 14-13 season-opening win over Molloy.
Mick Tabor (Navy) – Had 1.5 TFL, a fumble recovery and a
pass breakup in the win over the Big Red.
Colin Cross (Penn) – Notched 10 tackles against Caldwell.
